Work On It With A Sonnet

Ideas soar free, aloft in cyberspace,

From Google, Wiki, Twitter they abound,

Recycled themes become more commonplace;

Originality is seldom found.

There’s nothing so cathartic as a rant--

Take sound bites out of context; target fools,

But some days I am spent, I simply can’t

Turn incohesive thoughts to treasured jewels.

I venture past the boundaries of my house,

My shriveled mind demands an antidote,

I scrutinize the follies of my spouse,

As humor keeps the irony afloat.

There’s nothing like a sonnet to take stock,

And cure a minor case of writer’s block.
